Fatherless Creatures
YA / Fantasy / Adventure
A modern day continuation of the Beowulf legend, Fatherless Creatures picks up over a thousand years from where the epic left off.
FREYA PEDERSON and her family have been haunted by the specter of her estranged father for years, but when he is killed under mysterious circumstances, the haunting starts to become literal.
Now the family must return to the small town in Denmark where Freya was raised until she was five. Within days of arriving, Freya and her brother, Randy, encounter a man claiming to be the legendary monster slayer, BEOWULF.
Despite Freya’s initial skepticism, she begins to realize that this Viking looking basket case might actually be telling the truth. And if his ravings are to be believed, he’ll need Freya’s help hunting down a bloodthirsty creature from Freya’s childhood stories; THE GRENDEL. But the monster is more than it first appears... the monster is Freya’s father himself.
Fatherless Creatures is a story about a family’s struggle to face not only the loss of a parent, but also a monster that is more familiar than it first appears.
